Second Gear: Shifting to Success
On the Tools | Term 3, Week 4 Highlights
Workshop sparks creativity
We kicked off the week with plenty of energy in the workshop, diving into the design stage of our e-bike conversion project. This is the stage where ideas start to take shape, participants worked alongside our Apprentice Master to put pencil to paper, sketching out their vision for their bikes. They explored questions like: What do I want my bike to look like? What features will make it uniquely mine?
This process not only encourages creativity, but also builds practical planning skills as participants think about how their designs will translate into real-world builds.

White Card Success
On Tuesday, we welcomed Dave onsite to deliver the White Card qualification to students who had not yet completed it. We were thrilled to also open this session to participants from Broome Youth and Families Hub’s Reconnect program.
Dave’s calm, methodical approach helps our students feel confident and supported, and delivering the training onsite means they can learn in a familiar and comfortable environment. A big thank you to Dave for making it such a positive experience.

A taste of the action
Mid-week, we popped into the camp draft at the Rodeo Grounds to see it in action. It was a great opportunity for our young people to connect with the local scene and witness the skill, teamwork, and dedication behind the sport!

Health Living and Fishing Fun
Thursday brought a visit from our friends at WACHS, Jeff Fong and Katina Coffin. Together, we headed down to Demco for a “catch and cook” session, sharing tips on healthy food choices while enjoying some fishing by the water.
It was a perfect blend of learning and relaxation, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Jeff and Katina back later in the term to run workshops on wellbeing and health with our participants.
Thank you to our partners and supporters.
